Короед-типо́граф — жук семейства долгоносиков Curculionidae подсемейства короедов - Scolytinae. Имеет цилиндрическое черно-коричневое, длиной 4,2—5,5 мм тело, опушенное волосками. Питается корой хвойных деревьев, прогрызая в ней ходы.

Dr Viktor Fursov is talking about the registration of Ulmoides desmestoides (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae) in the fauna of Ukraine. The first record was published by Dr L.S.Cherney (Kiev, Ukraine) in August, 2013 in the Proceedings of Ukrainian Entomological Society.
Now the beetle Ulomoides dermestoides (Tenebrionidae, Coleoptera) is widely distributed in laboratory cultures in UKRAINE. This beetle is easily reared on artificial diet at laboratory conditions.  VIDEO LINK = at: LINK =  http://youtu.be/gd6Nfa-b_d4

Неужели чудо-юдо Жук-Носорог может жить в доме?
Кандидат биологических наук Фурсов Виктор Николаевич рассказывает как можно содержать в домашних условиях жука-носорога Oryctes nasicornis.

Неужели чудо-юдо Жук-Носорог может жить в доме?
Где же  можно найти или поймать жука-носорога в городе?
Оказывается, прежде всего, его можно купить!
На рыбном рынке (для рыбаков - тот, что около Днепра) в г.Киеве Вы всегда можете купить крупных и мелких личинок жука-носорога, хотя он и внесен в охраняемый список видов насекомых и в Красную книгу Украины.
Вот эту личинку вы можете и "воспитать", точнее дорастить до взрослого жука-носорога.
Личинок жука можно посадить в пластиковый контейнер с трухлявым деревом, например,  разломать сухой трухлявый пенек дерева около дома, и контейнер завязать, чтобы личинки могли дышать.
Можно добавить рыхлого грунта или торфа.
Личинки будут выедать трухлявую древесину.
Обычно через 2 месяца личинка окуклится, сделав земляной кокон размером с куриное яйцо, а затем еще через 10-14 дней выведется взрослый жук  - имаго жука-носорога Oryctes nasicornis.

ВТОРОЙ способ найти Жука-Носорога - поймать его  в июне-июле месяце.
В городе тоже? Да, даже в городе! В городских условиях личинки жуков развиваются под землей, около гниющих трухлявых пеньков срубленных деревьев. А что же ЖУКИ? Взрослые жуки вылезают из почвы и вычером летают, даже в условиях города, и даже в г.Киеве, вдоль улиц, и падают на кромку тротуаров, где их часто давят прохожие, т.е. люди, которые или их не замечают или , к сожалению, замечают.

Entomologist Dr Victor Fursov is talking about dangerous pests of forests in Ukraine - Bark Beetles (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Scolytinae) which are developing under the bark of coniferous trees - fur trees, pine trees, larch, spruces and others.
Our observations during the summer-autumn, 2013,  in the forest plantations and parks around the city of Kiev, the capital of UKRAINE, showed that the bark beetles became dangerous pests of coniferous forests in Ukraine in the summer of 2013.

We found that the most dangerous species of beetles are spruce bark beetle, Ips typographus, and six-toothed pine bark beetle - Ips sexdentatus, and several species of Crypturgus sp.

Кандидат биологических наук Фурсов Виктор Николаевич рассказывает о методах сборов, выведения из растений (стеблей. галлов, семян и плодов) паразитических и растительноядных перепончатокрылых насекомых (Hymenoptera Parasitica).

Entomologist, researcher Dr Victor Fursov is talking about Collecting Methods to explain how to collect and  rear chalcid wasps (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) and parasitic Hymenoptera at the laboratory conditions, and general methods and devices to store parasitic insects (dry in plastic tubes of 1 cm long, and in plastic or glass jars with caps and with 96% ethanol). The collection of dry insects in tubes are well stored in wooden and plastic boxes (they must be kept dry, without moisture). These collected insects (small parasitic Hymenoptera) can be used for species indentification.
The samples of insects can be presnted for entomologists-experts for correct species identification.
If you reared or collected any Hymenoptera Parasitica or phytophagous Hymenoptera, you can present these samples or photos of insects for experts-entomologists who are working in your local area.
The samples of reared Hymenoptera, either from tropical areas or temperate areas, may have unique scientific material with new species (even never known for the science!), that can be identified and studied by experts-entomologists and used in scientific publications.
You are welcome to cooperate with scientists in their study of biodiversity of insects.

Siberia), Europe,  Mediterranean area,  Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russian Federation and Ukraine.
